Design Development/ Engineering Systems Coordination/ Construction Documents/ Construction Administration/ LEED Certification process

Project Details:
WestEnd25 was the first residential building in Washington, DC to achieve a LEED Gold certification from the US Green Building Council, which is very appropriate considering it was built by converting an two existing six-story office buildings built in the late 1960s into an eleven-story, 283-unit luxury apartment building. During the design process I coordinated dwelling units and public spaces with outside engineering consultants and implemented changes to design for compliance with accessibility and fire-safety codes.
As the project moved into construction my responsibilities shifted to reviewing contractor payments, conducting construction progress inspection site visits, reviewing material, and resolving construction conflicts.
At the midpoint of construction I assumed the role of project architect and supervised the final construction and closeout of the project in this role.
